Reunion 2013

We have a reunion with Jeff's parents and siblings every two years and this was the year!  The kids look forward to this time with Grandpa and Grandma and their cousins so much that they talk about it for months in advance.  This was the first time for Grandma and Grandpa to meet Darcy.  Such precious moments!

Cousin Time!

The five and under age group had a lot of fun playing "Avengers."  They each had different super powers and super hero names.  It was so cute watching them play together.

Each reunion Grandpa and Grandma give each of the grandkids a special gift.  This year grandma gave each of them one of the piggy banks that she has been collecting and filling over the years.  Every time she would find loose change she would pick it up and put it into one of the piggy banks for her grandkids.  Now that they were full she gave each of the kids one.  She named each one of them and then had the kids draw a pig name.  It was really cute.

Jeff and Darcy taking advantage of a quiet moment.

Playing a game called telestrations.  It's the traditional telephone game only with drawings.  It was a lot of fun!

Playing Jenga Bomb (kind of - they divided up the blocks to make their own buildings)

Hanging out in the kitchen

Fun in the sun!  The kids loved the Hot tub.

A "laser maze" that the big girls put together using crepe paper for the younger kids.

Talent Time!  We do a talent show every reunion.  Derek and Tommy showed us their "fly" dance moves.

Aubrey sang "I'm Blonde" by Bridgit Mendler.  She sounded great and it was fun to watch her ham it up.

Aiden read an excerpt from the story he is writing called Project Promethius.  He is a very talented writer and did a great job bringing the characters to life.

Katie did a spoof on the song "Radioactive" called "Bionic Grandpa."  It was really cute and the kids really enjoyed singing along on the chorus.

Jeff ran a role playing game for the older cousins.

There was a lake nearby that the kids had fun playing in/on.  Kyle helped some of the kids fish and they all had turns going out in the kayak and playing on the water trampoline.  Aubrey and Scarlett played in the water, but that came to an end when Aubrey discovered there were leaches.

And we did family Olympics as one of our evening activities which was a lot of fun!

It's always so good to get together, and the kids start talking about "next reunion" the second each one ends. I'm so grateful to have such wonderful extended family and love them so much!!
