The rest of December

Part of Aiden's Christmas was flying to Seattle to spend some time with the Roundy's at their house in Bellevue.  It was such a great visit and we made many happy memories!!

Halloween 2013

We started off the day with the Elementary school parade.  It was bittersweet since as Derek's first and Aubrey's last.  Here's Darcy hanging out as it's about to start.

And along came Derek.  "He's a semi-aquatic egg-legging mammal of action; with a beaver tail and a bill, he's Perry, Perry the Platypus... AGENT P!!"

We put together Aubrey's costume from things that we already had on hand.  We spray painted her angel wings from last year black and blue and she went as a raven.
I am co-room mom for Derek's class so I stayed for the whole party.  For the first 45 minutes they rotated through 5 different stations.  Then we changed up the stations and did it again.  Then we ended with Halloween carols and Boo Mix.  It worked out great!

Here are some more of the costumes!

The fox says it has been a long day...
and now it's time to sleep
Happy Halloween and a Spooky Goodnight to all!!

She's a Beehive now!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Aubrey!  She turned 12 and is now old enough to join the Young Women's program at church.  She is thrilled not to have to go to Primary anymore!!  For her birthday she had her 3 best friends over for a sleepover.  They made mini pizzas, had cake and ice cream and did a popcorn bar while they had a Wii dance off and watched movies.

This is a blur of extreme excitement at an unexpected gift. As soon as she saw what the gift was she rushed across the room and pounced on her dad.
It was a cell phone.  She has been asking for years, to no avail.  We finally relented with a pay per use phone.  She is completely responsible for funding it.  If she doesn't have the money to buy minutes, she isn't able to use the phone.  She has limited access to the internet and hardly uses it at all because it uses up too many of her precious minutes.  She mostly texts because that uses the least amount of minutes.  It also works as an MP3 player which she also wanted.  So far it is working out great and she is learning to be responsible.
