Spring Break 2014 - Part 3 Cliff Dwellers and Lee's Ferry

Cliff Dwellers is the name of a.... place in Arizona.  Seriously I don't think you can even call it a village.  There is a little lodge and a gas station.  The attendant at the gas station told us the "town" was founded by a couple who became stranded in the 1950s when their car broke down.  They built a cool little rock house and set up the gas station and lodge.  It was a fun little stop.

Derek chose a chocolate ice cream bar as his treat from the gas station.  That may not have been the best idea...

We were actually headed to the Grand Canyon, but that plan was thwarted when we found the road closed just a few miles from the entry.  So we turned around and went to Lee's Ferry instead.  We had a great time searching for and skipping rocks, wading, and just enjoying bare feet in the sand.  I wish we'd have known about this little stop so we could have worn swimsuits or at least brought towels.  It was a little stormy though so probably better that everyone stayed mostly dry.
