Birthday Boating & opening presents

Last week AP was trying to decide what to do for his birthday when Emily suggested boating. I didn't think he would be interested but he got so excited; especially when Emily and the girls started telling him how fun it is and all the stuff they do. I was relieved that I didn't have to plan a party and entertain a bunch of overly excited kids (is that bad of me?).

So we went boating on Saturday and had a blast! We did have a couple of mishaps though. Mark let AP drive the boat so of course AJ wanted a turn and unfortunately while she was driving she stopped too abruptly and 5-year-old Grace and 3-year-old Gwen who were on the tube flipped off. Em had to jump in and do an emergency rescue. A little later while the kids were messing around, the tube holding D capsized and he went under. Luckily Emily was already in the water and got him out pretty quickly. Of course none of them were in any serious danger because they all had their life jackets on. All in all we had a great time and it was a very memorable birthday!!

We waited to open presents on his true birthday, Sunday morning. He got a lot of lego stuff: Toy story legos, space police legos, dragon megabloks from Em & Co., Lego Indianna Jones for Wii, Lego Star Wars the complete saga for Wii, and Lego Harry Potter for Nintendo DS. AJ gave him a cute little tadpole scene she made from playdoh. He got money from Grandparents (which he is extremely excited about since it gets him that much closer to the $100 he is trying to save up), as well as a science kit from Uncle Spence and a soda making kit from us. Let the experimenting begin!
