Entertain children on a 5 day road trip! I did a search for travel activities to prepare for our drive and someone suggested getting a cookie sheet at the dollar store and making magnetic games for it. I took that idea and added some clear plastic vinyl, dry erase markers, googley eyes with adhesive magnets on back, window clings and magnetic race cars. AJ and D also used the clings on (go figure) the van windows (and I got to thinking that you could just use the dry erase markers on the window as well and possibly forego the cookie sheets altogether, except they did like having their own lap surface so it was good to have both options). AJ spent hours tracing and drawing wolves on her vinyl.
AP used the google eyes and window clings to make aliens
And I entertained myself making some faces too...
Of course cookie sheets couldn't keep them all entertained for all of the many hours we spent on the road. Thank goodness for the laptop, nook, and dvd player. Here they are watching a movie.
What an amazing idea! I appreciate you sharing this because I'm going to make one now for our next road trip! So fun!
