Daytrip to D.C.

This past Saturday we went into D.C. It ended up being a very wet morning, so before we set out J ran to Walmart to get everybody an umbrella.  Thank goodness!

Waiting for our ride.  We took the greenline metro into D.C. so we wouldn't have to worry about finding parking.

AJ was thrilled to be on the "train."  D wasn't quite sure what to think...

 These are all phone pictures because I left the camera cable at home so I will have to add pictures of the Lincoln Memorial (and some better ones of these) later.  We started off at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and then headed to the Memorial Mall.

On our way back to the Metro we passed this guy playing drums on bucket and garbage cans.  He was using a shopping cart as cymbals and sounded amazing!  Not only was he a very talented musician, but I love his innovative spirit!  A great way to end our day.
