Here are some graduation gifts that I gave. The first one was for Jennifer, our awesome babysitter who we have all loved so much. Along with this I gave her some small things to go in her backpack, like hand lotion and emery boards, as well as a small Book of Mormon.
These next ones were for the girls that have been coming over to play Dungeons & Dragons with us over the last year and a half. I personalized them with highlights from some of our adventures and just looking at them makes me giggle a little. I hope the girls find them as funny as I did while making them! The mushroom one is my favorite (obviously since I took so many pictures of it).
So the reason I chose these notebooks is because I have found them very useful over the years. In college I used them for taking notes. I would write my book notes in the left column and then add anything covered by the teacher, but not found in my book notes, on the right. Then when we did test reviews I could highlight specific things the teacher said would be on the test. I found it helpful having my notes in column form because it was quick and easy to scan while studying for finals. Since then I have used this style of notebook as a planner (left side for my schedule and right side for my “to do” list) or to keep track of things I need to remember, like cute things my kids say or other details (measurements for house projects or things I need to pick up at the store). I've also used them to track AP's meds and behaviors which has helped me note patterns and figure out what works and what doesn't. They would also make a great diet and exercise tracker. I could go on and on so I'll stop now and move on to...
The baby gift. This one was for my former VT partner...
I wish I could just sit and create stuff like this all day. I really enjoy the process and it's so nice to make something and be able to sit back and see it finished. And then it's fun to give it away and have someone else enjoy it too!
Wow, they are all beautiful! You're so talented and thoughtful. The baby book is so cute, she will love it! And the notebooks are such a great idea. The mushroom one really is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis mom (me) has a very talented daughter-in-law. I think you should post an example of your college notebook so I can see how you organized those notes. I am having a hard time coming up with an effective way to keep my Relief Society work flowing smoothly. I have tried using different kinds of notebooks, a binder, a planner, etc. Nothing seems to be working. I have scraps of paper everywhere. I am losing my touch Heath.
ReplyDeleteSo crafty!!! Love you Babe.
