Father's day breakfast with pancakes and eggs.
AP and AJ each picked out a t-shirt to give him. They had so much fun looking at shirts, narrowing down their favorites, and then each deciding on the one that they thought he would like best. They did quite well with their choices and J loved them both. He was really cute about it and put each of them (in turn) on right away so we could all see how they fit. AP picked one that said, "Keep in mind that I am the Dungeon Master. If you continue to annoy me, I may have to destroy you." He's pretty excited to wear it for our next game.
And in case you can't read it, the one AJ picked out says, "I'm only wearing this because my armor is at the cleaners." He's worried it's a little too tight, but I told him that just proves the shirt's point.
D saw cowboy style hats at Target and wanted to get Daddy one. We compromised on this one. I think J was happy with the style although it was too big so we will have to exchange it.
And almost two months ago I had sent J to Seagull book to pick up something. He came home and told me about this picture. He got a little emotional just talking about it. When I went to buy it I got choked up too. Then an elderly man came in as D and I were walking out with it, and commented on what a meaningful gift it was going to be. It's hard to tell, but it's a soldier carrying a small child with the American Flag forming angel's wings. Printed on it is "No greater love."
He got himself a good deal on some D&D minis about a month ago and bought several boxes. He saved one to open on Father's Day (I guess to make sure he got something he would enjoy). It's fun for him to pull each figure out of the box and see the kids get as excited over his new guys as he is. As a side note, he and a group of friends have played D&D together for about 6 years now. The wife who hosts always teases them about getting out their "boy barbies," ha!
AJ found a Napolean Dynamite card to give him. It was perfect! See the video below :)
