Spring Break 2014 - Part 4 Four Corners, Hovenweep, and Natural Bridges (Sipapu)

Four Corners has completely changed from when I was there as an 8-year-old kid.  All I remember is a square cement pad, but there is a whole monument now.

After leaving Four Corners we drove to Hovenweep just outside of Blanding, Utah.  Jeff's friend Richard recommended it and it was really worth the stop.  It's incredible how the structures are built right on, and even into, the cliffs.  The first structure is called the Stronghold House and the kids were so excited to have me take a picture of them with it perfect header for this blog.  Hopefully I will get it up there soon!

Aiden was really good about playing Plants vs. Zombies with Derek while we hiked.  It was a great way to keep Derek engaged and from noticing that he was tired.

Our final sight of the day was Natural Bridges (more specifically Sipapu).  It was an amazing, and little bit scary) hike.  There were parts of it where the cliff just dropped right off and we had to climb down log ladders that had been anchored to the rock.
