On the mend

As it turns out he has "severe pneumonia" was put on oxygen and sent to the hospital.  He saw the PA who after talking to the doctor said he should have stayed at the hospital overnight.  His oxygen levels we re so low that he said J could literally pass away in the night without breathing help so he had an oxygen machine dropped off at our house.  Of course that first night I kept waking up, checking his heartbeat, making sure he was still breathing.  His tubes did come loose around 3 in the morning resulting in a coughing attack, but he made it through the night.  The infection did spread to his liver and kidney, but at least he's breathing better now.   He's had a couple of super powered antibiotic shots over the last couple of days and has some more testing this afternoon, but went into work just now for an hour.   He's already restless and determined to make a quick recovery.   All in all we are grateful for modern medicine and that weren't out on the trail in a wagon during the cold winter!  AJ also has pneumonia but hers is a much milder case.  Whew!

  1. That must have been so scary when they told you what could have happened without the oxygen machine! Like you mentioned, so grateful for modern technology! I hope they both recover quickly. I'm sad I didn't wake up at five as planned so we can talk. I slept in, but please email me another good time to talk.
