"I'm too happy"

Derek doesn't like sleeping alone.  He tells me this often.  So a month ago I told him that maybe Aubrey would want to move her bed into his room (they each have half of a bunk bed).  We have discussed the idea of them sharing a room before, and although Aubrey doesn't like sleeping by herself either she really likes having her own space.  So I asked her if she would want to set up the bunk beds in Derek's room, leave all of her other stuff in her room, and just sleep in the same room as him.  She said that she would like to try it.  Derek was so happy he giggled with delight and as I tried to get him settled into bed he said, "Mommy, I'm going to cry, but I just can't because I'm too happy.  I mean I'm so happy that I think I'm going to cry, but then I can't because I'm smiling."  He is such a sweet boy!

Along the lines of sweet kids, several weeks ago I had to teach Relief Society with less than 24 hours notice.  I tried to pass it onto someone else, but didn't have any luck so I sat down to read through it.  It was Ann M. Dibb's talk from October conference entitled, "I know it, I love it, I live it."  She shares an experience about a girl she ran into who was wearing a T-shirt that said, "I'm a Mormon.  Are you?"  I shared this story with Aiden and Aubrey and asked them if they thought they would be brave enough to wear a shirt like that or if they would be embarrassed.  We had a discussion about it and I challenged them to come up with one or two things from church today that they could focus on in the next week or two by studying in the scriptures and praying about it to strengthen their testimonies.  Aubrey asked me if I had a plain white T-shirt she could have.  She got out the fabric markers and made her own t-shirt with a big smiley face on the front and the back says, "I'm a Mormon.  Are you?"  It made me too happy to see her acting on what we had talked about!
