The sand was really coarse and hot. As you can see D is not sure what to think of it (either that or he is making a zombie face; sometimes it's hard to tell)
To my delight AP jumped in and was having a great time
Until he got stung by a jellyfish. Then he just wanted to stay on shore and keep his leg caked in seawater and sand (the suggested treatment for a mild sting). I was actually able to scoop up the jellyfish with D's sand shovel and stashed it under the lifeguard's chair in an attempt to save some other poor soul. However, there were a lot more jellyfish around and we get hearing exclamations around us of "Aaah, I got stung!"
Because of that AJ and D were a little leary of venturing too far out into the water. They still had a good time though splashing in the shallows and playing in the sand. We did get AP to go back in briefly, but the most he would do was get his feet wet.
And here are the treasure we collected on the shore. The pickings were slim as far as shells go, but I was excited to find this bottle and AJ was thrilled with her feather.
Despite "A" jellyfish? More like a million...
ReplyDeleteOh no! So sad he was stung by the jellyfish! We went there one time when they warned us at the gate to watch out for jellyfish and I was so worried one of the girls would get stung, but thankfully they weren't. (They wanted to play in the sand most of the time anyway) How long did it take before it felt better? I hope he wasn't in pain too long. Glad you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteWell, that sounds painful :(
